About The Event

Mental Health First Aid Training  Saturday, October 21 from 10am - 6pm Registration is required. Please register at https://bit.ly/AMACmentalhealth The American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) is collaborating with the American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP) to bring the Youth Mental Health First Aid Training to Nashville on Saturday, October 21 from 10am to 6pm with Dr. Sabeen Sheikh. Mental Health First Aid (MHRA) is an evidence-based certification program which introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health issues like anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorder, substance abuse, and addictions, and builds understanding of their impact. To become MHFA-certified, all participants must:

  • Complete 3 modules of pre-work online
  • Attend the entire in-person session
  • Complete 3 post-work modules online

  • Individuals living with Mental Illness
  • Parents or Family Members
  • Religious leaders
  • Law Enforcement
  • Medical Providers
  • Teachers
  • Community Leaders, Students over 18 yrs old
  • Youth Directors
