This past weekend, AMAC, Votes For All, and Micah Memphis, hosted an Immigrant Voter Poll Party at Gaisman Community Center in Memphis, and it was a huge success! 🎉
The event was filled with diversity, energy, and a powerful sense of community. Our goal was to engage those who may not traditionally be reached and to educate on the importance of voting as a means of having a voice and creating real change. 🗳️
As AMAC’s West TN Program Manager, Amal Altareb, shared, “Voting is about having a voice, having power.” The event also addressed concerns within our community, from voter suppression to the personal impact of policy decisions on immigrant lives.
Together, we created an atmosphere of celebration and empowerment through food, entertainment, and activities for the whole family.
