Youth Leadership Program for Nashville High School Students

We are excited to announce the American Muslim Advisory Council will begin its sixth cohort of the Youth Leadership Program!

The program is designed to foster mutual understanding, respect, civic engagement among young Muslim Americans, Muslim and non-Muslim leaders, and their peers.

Who can apply?

Highschool Students in grades 10 -12 in Nashville and surrounding areas are eligible to apply.

How long is the program?

The 2024 Youth Leadership Program will run between September 2024 - May 2025.

What is expected of cohort members?

Students who are accepted into the cohort will meet one to two times per month. During the exchanges, students will participate in workshops, community service activities, and team building exercises.

Students will meet with community leaders and elected officials for leadership development and mentorship opportunities.  Students will apply what they have learned to implement projects that serve the needs in their communities.

The goal of this Nashville student leadership program is to empower and prepare Muslim high school students to engage in future leadership roles both within and outside of the Muslim community.

How can I learn more?

There will be an Open House on September 12, 2024, 6:00-7:30 pm, at Casa Azafran. The Open House is great opportunity to learn more about the Youth Leadership Program, and meet AMAC leaders. Light refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the application, do not hesitate to reach out to the YLP Program Sponsor, Dr. Berthena Nabaa-McKinney (berthena@nabaaconsulting.org), or American Muslim Advisory Council (pr@amactn.com).

We look forward to your participation!

Applications will close on September 23.
