Youth Leadership Program

We are excited to announce the American Muslim Advisory Council will begin its sixth cohort of the Youth Leadership Program! The program is designed to foster mutual understanding, respect, civic engagement among young Muslim Americans, Muslim and non-Muslim leaders, and their peers. Students in grades 10-12 are eligible to apply.

Students who are accepted into the cohort will meet one to two times per month during September through May. One of the monthly meetings will take place during school hours. We will work with schools to make it an excused absence.

The tentative dates for in person meetings are Oct 16, Nov 13, Dec. 11, Jan 15, Feb 12, March 19, April 16, May 7, and May 10.

During the exchanges, students will participate in workshops, community service activities, team building exercises, meetings with community leaders and elected officials, leadership development, and mentorship opportunities.  Students will apply what they have learned to implement projects that serve the needs in their communities.

The goal of the program is to empower and prepare Muslim high school students to engage in future leadership roles both within and outside of the Muslim community.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the application, please feel free to reach out to the YLP Program Sponsor, Dr. Berthena Nabaa-McKinney (berthena@nabaaconsulting.org), or American Muslim Advisory Council  (pr@amactn.com).

We look forward to your participation! Applications will close on September 23. Register below or here.
